Access free internet using an orange simcard, modem and a proxy server
Step1:
Open Firefox and go to Tools>Options on the menu bar
Step2:
Click the Advanced Tab
In the connection group, click the Settings button
Select the Manual proxy configuration, and enter the details as below
Click OK when done
Step 3
Now insert your orange modem, preferably Model E1752 HSPA model, into a USB port. An unlocked modem from another provider might also work just fine
Once your computer loads all drivers and the Mobile Partner software, click the connect button
Step4
Back in the browser, type the URL http://orange.ug/ to open the interface below
Type the URL you need to access eg ugandastore.com, gmail.com,…
Before clicking the Go button, make sure you click the options button and check the “remove page titles” checkbox
You can now click the go button
Important: Make sure you go back to step2 and select the “No proxy” button when done using this free internet option
NOTE:
This does not require credit or a bundle on the modem
It might be at times slow in response during peak internet usage, but remember you are using 3G speeds. However, it is faster at night. So for those that play security guards at their homes, this might be your king of things
